My Best Clayton Memory: Does it have to be high school? I only attended CHS for two weeks...

-- sandlot baseball & football on the parkway in Davis Place in the mid-60s, with Fred Einstein calling play-by-play in the voice of Harry Caray;

--parties at Jeff Loew's in 1967-68; --Class B fireworks -- until banned in '65;

--reading Mad Magazine and drinking ice-cold Coca-Cola at Burt Schnurmacher's Lake Forest pharmacy on hundred-degree summer days;

--playing summer soccer on Sunday evenings with the Will-Wall & O'Neill clans in the 70s.

During high school:

--'74 Quadrophenia concert is right up there. (Thank you, Steve Frelich, for the 4th-row seats. What did I do to deserve them?)

--Tripping over the TV cord while a group of people intently watched "Rosemary's Baby" in a darkened basement room at Elaine Rosen's house - then being applauded for catching said TV before it smashed on the floor.

--The laughter of Emily & Liz M.; Kornblum's gentle spirit and love of music; Kenny S's sense of humor; Cathy M.

My Worst Clayton Memory: No need to dwell on the negative...
What will I never forget about CHS: The movie 'Dazed & Confused' pretty well captures the ethos of the time.
My Best Friends at CHS: When you're out of Butz, you're out of guts, right Dave?
Where did I go after CHS? Berkeley; Stanford; Cliveden House; Columbia U.; Boulder, Colorado; New York City; Washington, DC; San Francisco; Khartoum; Islamabad; Baghdad; Irkutsk; a dark,remote castle in the Carpathians
